It’s a wonderful world!

Atheism is the belief there is no god. New Atheism is a type of atheism that simply rejects the theistic claim there is a god, and (unlike ‘hard atheism’) does not assert there is no god. It simply says theists have failed to make the case there is a god.
Atheism is not just about rejecting claims. It is empowering, allowing your mind to explore and embrace the wonder of our world, of ideas; embracing a freedom to think and appreciate the wonder of it all. Therefore, new-atheism involves both a strict, narrow definition, and also a broad context on how to approach and live one’s life.
Being an atheist demands having a sense of integrity and an expectation of truth, which often places atheists at odds with others who feel insecure and intimidated by atheism, and who will mischaracterize what atheism is, and so there is a need for websites such as this to provide clarity.
This website hosts a collection of commentaries about atheism and religion, and atheist responses to religious claims, to help others who want to learn about alternatives to theism, and who want to understand why atheists reject theism’s claims. It does not pretend to be an exhaustive compilation – after all, how many holes must there be in a boat before you decide it’s not reliable?
The resources here are simply to serve as a quick reference, and are not intended to be exhaustive and will probably not change very often.
[The website is new and I’m still building in the links and pages. Please see the ‘Read Me’ and the ‘Why this Blog?’ notes in the sidebar to learn more. – PH ]
